Iranians bag top medals in the stage 1 Governor Cup 2008


Iranian road cyclists dominate the Governor Cup 2008 by landing themselves in the first and second placing in the Governor Cup 2008 held near the Bukit Serindit City Park yesterday.

In 2.2 category cycling championship, 8 foreign team and 12 locals teams throughout Malaysia completed stage 1 Governor Cup 2008 despite the early morning heavy downpour yesterday morning.

Deputy State Executive Council Chairman for Youth, Sports, Welfare and Unity, Hasan Rahman was the guest of honor presented the top three winners, Iranians, Sohradi Mehdi, Rafal Chitioui and Hossein Aslami Kohpaye at the stage one championship where cyclist clocked a total of 154.7 kilometers.

Organized by the same organizer for the renowned Langkawi De Tour, the Governor Cup 2008, has without doubt has not only brought participants from al over the world but also their family members, supporters from eight other nation to Melaka.

Sanctioned by Union of Cycling International (UCI) , the Governor Cup 2008 brought commissars and cycling authorities from all over the world to Melaka including the Chief Commissar, Inoki Masato

Organizing Chairman, Abu Samah Wahab, his deputiers, Ibrahim Mustapa, and Ismail, Mohd Yusof ,Honorable Secretary, Menhat Abd Rahman, Assistant Honorable Secretary Zulkifli Kalil and the man working behind the scenes, Norazman Abu Samah

Catch international road cyclists including those from Iran, Uzbekistan them today, racing against each other, pitching up the lighting sped with their state of the art mean cycling machines at Bukit Serindit today. They are expected back at Bukit Serindit City Park by about 12.20 p.m.
